O brother o sister (one week) is a work that attempted to temporarily open up the lines of communication between siblings Mary Novack and John Novack.

Beginning Wednesday, February 24, 2010, both Mary and John recorded “the best thing” they saw each day for one week.  Each artist interpreted the phrase “best thing” in his and her own way.  They documented using words and drawings.  Each artist then shipped their documentation to the other artist.

Mary displayed John’s words and images along with photocopies of the words and images that she sent him at Alexander Hall on March 8th, 2010.
